Footpath near the New Masons public house.
This footpath here crossing Byerley Road and then fading into the distance follows the line of the first publicly owned railway,
that of the Stockton and Darlington Railway Company. The line was opened for trade on Tuesday the 25th of September 1825.
There was still a railway here as late as 1975. Link
