taken 17 years ago, near to Acomb, Northumberland, England

The Barracks, Main Street
Pevsner says "The Barracks, 1730, is interesting and seems to have been built as a semi-detached pair [MQ: there is a former doorway (to the right of the blue door) which has been blocked up fairly recently - unfortunately with "random" sized stones rather than even sized ones laid in courses like the rest of the wall]: it is said to derive its name from having been used as a leadminers' lodging."
