SK3455 : Wakebridge Waiting Room, Crich Tramway

Wakebridge Waiting Room, Crich Tramway
Wakebridge Waiting Room, Crich Tramway
On a bleak day, this waiting room didn't look particularly inviting, particularly as it has hard wooden seating. Apparently it used to be a shelter for cabmen (drivers) on the former Bradford tramway system, which closed around the middle of the 20th century. Behind this shelter, at a lower level, is a sub-station for the tramway, which visitors can go inside.
