Lead miners, Crich Tramway Village
Lead miners, Crich Tramway Village
This sculpture of two lead miners is more or less at the end of the Woodland Walk and Sculpture Trail, and near the Bowes-Lyon Bridge, which crosses the tramway. It should be said that the uppermost miner does not normally wear a hat. But it was the Easter weekend and the following two days the village was running a World War II themed event. A lot of the people who were to take part had already arrived, and one of them was no doubt responsible for giving the miner a military cap!
