H2501 : North end of Gulladoo Lough

taken 17 years ago, 3 km from Carrigallen, Co Leitrim, Ireland

North end of Gulladoo Lough
North end of Gulladoo Lough
The Irish lakeland of County Cavan and adjoining areas is dotted with innumerable small loughs nestling between the drumlins. Gulladoo Lough is one of the larger loughs and lies just inside Country Leitrim. The clump of trees in the water is a Crannog - the site of one of the early lake dwellings which are very common in the area. Seen from Errew.
