The Mad Hatter's Tea Party
The Mad Hatter's Tea Party
An eight ton granite sculpture of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The sculpture is by Edwin Russell and is located in Golden Square. Lewis Carroll was born nearby at Newton-by-Daresbury, Cheshire in 1832. The north-east corner of Cheshire has a history of hat-making, so this is an obvious subject to depict from the works of Carroll. It was unveiled by HRH the Prince and Princess of Wales on May 30th, 1984.
