In the foreground is The Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the world's first rotating bridge, it was opened to the public at 3pm on Monday, 17th September 2001. The large stainless steel structure next to it is The Sage Gateshead, opened on the 17th December 2004 and is a stunning £70 million home for live music and musical discovery. Finally in the distance is the Tyne Bridge, which was opened by King George V in 1928. At the time it was the largest single span bridge in the world.
