Monsal Dale Viaduct from the banks of the River Wye
Monsal Dale Viaduct from the banks of the River Wye
Seen from the banks of the River Wye, it must have made an impressive site when expresses from St Pancras to Manchester burst out of the tunnel in the hillside to the right and went over the viaduct. Nowadays nothing faster than walkers or cyclists on the Monsal Trail cross the viaduct, although there has been talk for a long time of reopening the line.
