Double Bridge
Double Bridge
Double Bridge is an occupation bridge over the Wilts & Berks Canal, restoration was completed in May 2009.
It is called 'Double Bridge' because it was originally built to provide access for two adjacent landowners across the canal, but they wanted separate access for their own livestock, so the bridge was built double width with a (no longer existing) wall running down the middle to provide two adjacent but separate crossings.
