Inside Silvas Capitalis
Silvas Capitalis or Forest Head is a very recent (June 2009) addition to the Kielder Arts and Architecture program. Create by SIMPARCH, a group of artists based near Chicago, it reminds us of the much more intimate relationship earlier inhabitants had with this remote, rugged landscape.

The head also acts as a very welcome shelter along an otherwise inhospitable length of the shoreline of Kielder Water; whilst there you can also pop upstairs to experience the surrounding forest through his eyes and ears.
