Site of Swinhope Mine
Site of Swinhope Mine
All that's left at the site of Swinhope Mine near Coalcleugh. Originally a lead mine it was taken over and run by British Steel who mined minerals there. After it was closed the mine was filled with the waste from Allenheads mine and the buildings were removed. The picture shows the site of the mine entrance.

The white smudge is sleet.
