Memorial to Adam Sedgwick
Memorial to Adam Sedgwick
This water fountain and memorial to Adam Sedgwick is on the corner of Main Street and the southern gateway to St Andrew's church. Adam was born in Dent, the son of an Anglican vicar, and he became one of the founders of modern Geology. Charles Darwin, with whom he strongly disagreed, was one of his students in 1831.
