Kilmallock Dominican Friary
Dedicated to St Saviour, it was founded in 1291 just outside the town on land granted by royal consent. Despite this the friars were unlawfully ejected by the Bishop of Limerick, and were almost immediately reinstated following a royal inquiry. Dominican friars remained here until 1571. Surviving architectural features from the late 13c are the nave and chancel, whilst the 14c saw the addition of a south transept, a bell tower, and an aisle on both the nave and transept.
