St Mary's church
St Mary's church
St Mary's church > Link - Link - Link as we see it today dates mainly from the 15th century. The church is surrounded by a spacious churchyard adjoined by fields on two sides. Restored in the late 19th century, the furnishings date from this time but three carved bench ends dating from the 15th century have been incorporated into newer benches > Link. The octagonal font > Link dates from this time also. The stained glass > Link in the chancel south window was made by Kings of Norwich. St Mary's contains a number of memorials to members of the Harvey family, the lords of the manor for many decades > Link. The Harvey mausoleum is situated in the southern section of the churchyard and was built in 1855 by General Sir R. Harvey who also has a wall monument > Link on the chancel north wall. The church is kept locked but a key is available.
