Jarrow Ferry (Ferry Street/Tyne Street) – to Howdon (Tyne Street then later moved to Coach Open) from 1863 to 1967
After the opening of the Tyne Pedestrian and Cycle Tunnels in 1951 the service was still run to transport motor vehicles.
When the Tyne Road Tunnel opened in 1967 the ferry ceased running having carried shipyard and other workers for over a century.
