NY7606 : Kirkby Stephen station: down starter signal

Kirkby Stephen station: down starter signal
Kirkby Stephen station: down starter signal
The Skipton-Carlisle line was one of the few main lines to retain semaphore signalling as of 2009. The 'starter' signal is the one giving a train driver the 'right away' to leave the station. Here, a class 158 Sprinter unit pulls away on the 16.32 to Carlisle.

The overbridge in the background is just a farm access.
