Signal House, Kyle of Tongue
This is found at the bottom of the hill on the right before crossing the causeway. It is part of Tongue house (which is not open to the public) which dates back to 1678 and was originally Clan Mackay's seat, the Sutherland Clan took over from Lord Reay as the Mackay Chieftain was obliged to sell. Later the Mackays/Sutherland Highlanders were famous at Balaclaver as the "thin red line". Park on the causeway in one of the parking areas and walk along past the Signal House. It is a lovely walk with lots to see.
