Memorial to the Men of the Main and Rio Verde
During the Great War SS Main was sunk by gunfire just over a mile from Drummore. Rio Verde was sunk by torpedo off Crammag Head near to the Mull of Galloway. The SS Main was salvaged and to raise funds for a memorial to the men whose lives were lost visitors could come and see the damage which had been done to the ship. The memorial sits in Kirkmaiden Old Kirkyard. Behind it is panoramic views over Luce Bay.
