In this view, the main opening is on the far side of the structure, although another hole has been knocked through on the near side. On the right-hand side of the building, part of the attached pipe can be seen, although this is better seen in the view that accompanies the main description.
The flats visible in the background, to the right of the structure, are in Bellsmyre; the small peak of Doughnot Hill can be seen behind them.

Structure beside the River Leven
A small brick tower; its original purpose is unknown. Details of its construction suggest that it may date from the first half of the twentieth century. One possibility is that it was associated with the then-existing quarry at nearby Mains of Cardross.
