Prominent rocky outcrops date from the pre-Cambrian period. A regionally important geological site under County Council and Wildlife Trust management. Heather, gorse and grassland predominate. A high point with good views over Charnwood Forest. Recent management by the Wildlife Trust has included the grazing of Longhorn Cattle at the site.
