The museum, on the site of Cottesmore Sidings (the end of a freight-only branch from Ashwell on the Melton-Oakham main line) is home to a fine collection of standard-gauge engines which worked "on the ironstone" in the East Midlands. The green corrugated-iron shed on the right was once Woolsthorpe Quarries' Harston Engine Shed. It was brought from its original location in NE Leicestershire Link and rebuilt here.
