Crackington Haven: rebuilt bridge and phone box
When one thinks of the August 2004 flood disaster, it is Boscastle, a few miles down the coast from here, that immediately springs to mind. But of course, the torrential rain that night was not confined to a single village, and nor was the aftermath. Here, the date-stone on this bridge is inscribed 'CB 1896' but a plaque on the other side of the parapet states that Cornwall County Council rebuild the bridge after the flood of 16 August 2004.
