Hanbury Church
The Church of St Mary-the-Virgin sits in a commanding position on top of the hill. The church doubles up as ‘St Stephens Church, Ambridge’ in the long-running radio soap The Archers. Many Archers weddings have been photographed here for publicity shots and the bells feature in the programme. Nearby Hanbury Hall is used as a backdrop for the Pargetters’ residence, 'Lower Loxley Hall'.
