The Royal Border Bridge
The Royal Border Bridge
This famous railway bridge in Berwick upon Tweed is not actually on the border as its name suggests, as the Scottish border is about 3 miles north of here. It was built by Robert Stephenson and opened by Queen Victoria in 1850, thus completing the line of railway linking London and Edinburgh.
