Gayle Mill
Gayle Mill
Gayle Mill was built in the 1780's as a water powered cotton spinning mill and 100 years later was converted into a sawmill and woodworking establishment before finally falling into disuse in the 1980's. It has now been restored and is open to the public. The mill race or leet now supplies a turbine which generates electricity to run the machinery.
