Former Broughton and Bretton level crossing on the A5104
Looking across the former site of the Broughton and Bretton station level crossing. The white building on the left is the former station master's house and is now a vet's. The railway line to Mold crossed the road here on the same angle as the house, and on the right, close to where the pavement changes colour and there is a dip in the kerb, there was once a bench mark on a slab over a gully under the railway. The railway was removed as part of the Beeching cuts in the 1960s and, more recently, when the Broughton shopping centre was developed the previously straight road was re-engineered to curve around to a new roundabout behind the camera.
