Link dates from the early 15th century. A C17 memorial in black and white marble, commemorating Sir John Wentworth (lord of the manor during the time of Cromwell) and his wife, is on the north chancel wall. The church had fallen into disrepair by the beginning of the 19th century and was extensively restored by Sir Morton Peto, who took over the estate in 1844 and amongst many other works of improvement carried out the repairs to the church.
