Building of sea defences at Buckie Hillocks
Building of sea defences at Buckie Hillocks
As the huts at Buckie Hillocks became more established more and more of the owners started to build sea defences to prevent annual erosion of the coastline. By the time it closed down in 1965 the whole frontage had a concrete wall with steps at regular intervals. This particular frontage built by Willie Coupar is still standing strong 40 years later. The steps are often used by picnickers although the hut is long gone.
