King George V Dock
Looking westwards along the length of King George V Dock from Woolwich Manor Way. London City Airport is on the right. The King George V Dock was opened in 1921, and completed the Royal group of docks which, as a whole, formed the largest area of impounded water in the world. The Royal Docks were closed for general cargo handling in late 1981, the last vessel to be unloaded there discharging its cargo at the end of October 1981.
