Tan Hill Inn, North Yorkshire
The isolated and windswept Tan Hill Inn is officially regarded as the highest public house in Britain at 1732ft/528m. The Cat and Fiddle in Cheshire was in 2nd place with 1690ft/515m. However a recent re-measurement of the latter's height has come out with it at 1772ft/540m. As far as I am aware this new height has not been officially accepted and the OS maps show the Tan Hill Inn to be at a greater height. See
