Moycullen - Connemara Marble Industries
The marble is quarried elsewhere in the Connemara area and brought here for fabrication, mostly in small pieces for jewellery today. In the past, large slabs were used in buildings, especially cathedrals like the one in Galway. Most of the marble is olive green with specks of black.
