Stang Forest Gate
A series of tracks lead into the Stang Forest on either side of the public road. This is the gate on the lowest track on the west of the road, just behind Forest Lodge. It is one of the better-surfaced tracks in the forest, with good hardcore and few muddy patches or puddles. The occasional sticky-up stone can be a problem for nordic skiers, though, since this lowest track is the most likely to have thin or thawing snow cover if you are late in the day (I speak from (a wet) experience!)
