"Sacred to the memory of Lt Colonel William Edward Harrison O.B.E. late of Wychnor Park in the County of Staffordshire who died March 23rd 1937 aged 61 years. Also Edith Harrison loved wife of the above. 'She loved all beauty in life but had no fear of death' who dies March 25th (?) 1960 aged 78 years 'Grant peace on earth and after we have striven peace in thy heart'.."
Wychnor parish
Wychnor was a chapelry in Tattenhill parish; it became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1792, refounded in 1881. It was a township, became a civil parish in 1866, and despite its small population it still has that status.
