Special mention is made of Harry Dooling, who lost his life in the sinking of HMS Barham (in) November 1941, aged 19.
Wychnor parish

Wychnor was a chapelry in Tattenhill parish; it became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1792, refounded in 1881. It was a township, became a civil parish in 1866, and despite its small population it still has that status.
