The last bit of mainland in Europe
An Dún Mór is the last gasp of the western ridge of Eagle Mountain, and the most westerly mainland point in Europe. Only the Blasket Islands are further west, reached by a short boat trip across the treacherous Blasket Sound, through which the tides race.
