The Royal Albert Hall - evening
Taken at about 4:45pm on a late November evening from the steps of the - at that time - unilluminated Albert Memorial. The portico of the main North Entrance to the hall is curiously dark in contrast to the glowing brick and stone of the rest of this rather splendid edifice. The RAH was opened by Queen Victoria on 29th March 1871, a little under ten years after the untimely death of Prince Albert, the queen's husband and consort on 14th December 1861, after whom the building was named. In fact various grand buildings in this area of London, dedicated to the advancement of Science and The Arts were originally conceived by the Prince, and the area became known as Albertopolis - see Link
Considering the weather of late, I was lucky to get such a rich blue evening sky as a contrast to the orangey glow of the building - there was even an evening star (actually the planet Jupiter) glimmering almost directly above the dome.
