The church is on the corner of Rawling Road and Westminster Street NZ2461 : Church of St Chad, Rawling Road, Bensham
It was designed by W.S. Hicks in 1903 in the Gothic style and opened in 1903 to serve the inhabitants of the many rows of new terraces that were being built in Bensham and Saltwell.
