Old Town Bay and Peninnis Head from St Mary's Airport, Scilly
This was taken from a similar location to SV9110 : Old Town Bay and Peninnis Head from St Mary's Airport, Scilly, but around thirty metres upwards. Old Town Bay occupies the centre of the picture with Peninnis Head behind and left. Beyond this is St Agnes. The buildings at centre-right are Old Town, and those upper right are the outskirts of Hugh Town. The white building at the left of those just below Old Town Bay is the Tolman Cafe, highly recommended, especially if you have just made the walk along the coast from Porth Hellick. The field almost centre (just left of Old Town) is the proposed site of a new veterinary surgery agreed by the Isles of Scilly Planning authority, and sponsored by The Isles of Scilly Veterinary Support Group Link
.
The small bay just below centre left (Porth Minnick) has much coarser sand than Old Town Bay. Some of these particles are magnetic, and attach themselves to magnetic clasps on sandals!
