NZ6721 : Landslump Above Saltburn Scar

taken 19 years ago, near to Saltburn-by-The-Sea, Redcar And Cleveland, England

Landslump Above Saltburn Scar
Landslump Above Saltburn Scar
The landslump shows the precarious nature of the cliffs facing constant erosion from the sea. Sooner or later this slump will give. In the distance is Huntcliff once the site of a Roman signal station which has been mostly lost to the North Sea.

According to an old OS 6" map this is known as Crandale and the source of Crandale Spout. You need to look very closely to detect this spring on a modern map.
