SZ2592 : Hordle Cliff, coastal erosion

taken 15 years ago, near to Barton on Sea, Hampshire, England

Hordle Cliff, coastal erosion
Hordle Cliff, coastal erosion
As seen on the coastal footpath between Barton and Hordle, with the Isle of Wight in the distance to the right; erosion clearly forms shallow terraces, presumably determined by the permanence of the affected stratum. While I was watching, there were puffs of sand showing another small collapse.
