Norsey Wood Trenches
Norsey Wood Trenches
The low earthworks in this picture are the remains of an extensive trench system some of which date to the First World War. In the Second World War new trenches were dug by the London Defence Volunteers as part of the London inner defence line see LinkExternal link. Norsey Wood was also used for military manoeuvres and ammunition storage during WW2. See also TQ6895 : Boundary Marker
