Lough Allen Canal at Droumhierny

The upper reaches of the River Shannon - from Lough Allen down to Leitrim village are not navigable, and a parallel canal enables access up to the Lough. Leitrim village is an important waterway junction with the Shannon-Erne Waterway joining the Shannon.
