Moss Bros. shop, Northumberland Street
This strange building on Northumberland Street began life as a C19 domestic house. It was later transformed into a shop and is now sandwiched between taller, more recent buildings on the busy shopping street. Its façade is ornately decorated with plaster (a decoration known as pargetting), which was added in 1953 to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II Tyne and Wear HER (9928): Newcastle, Northumberland Street, No. 12, Carlisle House LinkExternal link

The location of the shop, on the corner with Northumberland Place, can be seen to the right, here NZ2464 : Northumberland Street.
