Restaurant, shops and offices of about 1903 by Benjamin Simpson in an Art Nouveau and Baroque style. Probably one of the finest buildings in Newcastle and always a delight to visit. It is currently Waterstones Bookshop.

The Art Nouveau style clock in right hand side turret was designed by Benjamin Simpson. It was a weight-driven clock installed by William Potts in 1904. It was mechanised in 1965.
