Castle Twts - 1
Castle Twts - 1
Looking north to the Medieval motte and bailey castle, which was possibly abandoned before it was completed. The castle is one of a string of fortifications in what was once turbulent border country. The name sounds Welsh, but is in fact English. Pronounced 'tuts', it derives from the Old English word 'totian', meaning 'to peep out' or 'a watch place'.
