Westward view at Woodhead
Westward view at Woodhead
View from main road (A628) above the western entrance to Woodhead Tunnel, on the (former) main railway Sheffield (Victoria) - Manchester, during the construction of the new tunnel, also of a new bridge over the River Etherow and a small new Woodhead Station. This view shows the old Woodhead station, the Station House at centre bottom, surrounded by construction equipment. In the distance are Woodhead and Torside Reservoirs and Robinson's Moss and other moors west of Crowden.
