This turned out to be the ideal day to photograph the frozen falls; the daytime temperature had been almost continuously below zero for weeks, allowing large ice formations to develop (rain and snow returned on the very next day).

The Black Linn

This waterfall on the Overtoun Burn gave rise to the name of the Black Linn Reservoir, which is located just to the east.
