Phoenix House, Sandhill
Phoenix House, Sandhill
Curved building on the corner of Queen Street and Sandhill, of 1869, designed by William Parnell as offices for the Royal Insurance Company. Now has an Indian Restaurant on the ground floor, with private apartments above. The Corinthian columns around the curve span two floors, something known as 'Giant Order'. The Tyne Bridge towers behind.
