In the foreground, to the south west of the Church, is a mausoleum built for the Davison family in the late 18th century. Alexander Davison was Chandler and friend to Horatio Nelson his monument can be seen on Lanton Hill across the valley NT9131 : Looking across the Glen to Lanton Hill. The story of Davison and Nelson is told in the book, 'Nelson's Purse', by Martyn Downer (Bantam Press, 2004) LinkExternal link
The churchyard also has a grave for Josephine Butler (social reformer; 1828-1906) LinkExternal link The centenary of her death in 2006 was marked with a new stained glass window and metal bindweed sculpture in the church porch.
