taken 19 years ago, near to Tennant Gill [water Feature], North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Mole catcher's gibbet on Malham Moor
Mole catcher's gibbet on Malham Moor
Part of a large collection of moles hung on a barbed wire fence (the gibbet) by a mole-catcher as evidence of his work. Once a common sight in the countryside, but now quite rare. Upland chalk grassland and dry stone walls in background.
